Making the work and building the road it travels on
Independent creative publishing means doing more than making a file and hoping somebody discovers it. The Felicity Station treats creation, packaging, broadcasting, presentation, marketing and publishing as parts of the same job. A song can become a station feature, a Signal Note, cover art, a video idea, a downloadable track or part of a larger musical-book project.
Public-domain stories make that model especially interesting because complete books can be retold in new forms without cutting the story down to fit a traditional publisher’s format. The station can build a catalogue of musical books, present them freely on the stream and then develop publishing and download options around them.
The point is independence rather than isolation. Collaboration, criticism, performers, designers, listeners and partners all matter. What changes is the need to wait for a gatekeeper before work can exist. The Felicity Station can create, test, improve and publish directly, then let the audience decide what connects.
